Schedule a consultation call

Welcome!

My name is Jeff, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and (LPC) Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) helping clients across Michigan via telehealth and in-person at my Royal Oak office.

Therapy can give you a safe, private space to look at what's holding you back and figure out how to move forward. I know that working through these challenges isn't always easy, so I focus on what matters most to each client.

As your counselor, I'm here to offer an open, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you can really dig into your experiences. Everyone is unique, and my aim is to listen closely and work together with you to handle whatever difficulties you're facing.

I support adults, couples, and teens using a mix of methods based on proven practices. My style centers around being person-focused, insight-driven, and always mindful of different backgrounds, helping you build self-awareness and make positive changes.

If you'd like to explore therapy, just reach out whenever you're ready. We can chat to see if my services fit what you're looking for. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you on your journey.

More About Tempo Counseling

Mission

Tempo Counseling's mission is to provide exceptional mental health care to clients in ways that help foster overall well-being and movement toward positive outcomes that align with each client's individual needs, values, and goals.

Vision

Client well-being is at the heart of every therapeutic and business decision made. By keeping clients' needs at the forefront, our work together will be rooted in a therapeutic relationship built upon collaboration and trust; is dedicated to nurturing holistic wellness; and executed with respect for all clients' autonomy, identity, culture, sexual orientation, and personal belief systems.

Values

My professional values include adhering to the legal and liability parameters set for professional practice and licensure in the state of Michigan. In addition, my clinical values align with the American Counseling Association’s Code of Ethics for professional counselors, which lists the following core values and principles for ethical commitment in its preamble:

  • Enhancing human development throughout the lifespan.
  • Honoring diversity and embracing a multicultural approach in support of the worth, dignity, potential, and uniqueness of people within their social and cultural contexts.
  • Promoting social justice.
  • Safeguarding the integrity of the counselor–client relationship.
  • Practicing in a competent and ethical manner.

These professional values provide a conceptual basis for the ethical principles enumerated below. These principles are the foundation for ethical behavior and decision making. The fundamental principles of professional ethical behavior are:

  • Autonomy, or fostering the right to control the direction of one’s life
  • Non-maleficence, or avoiding actions that cause harm
  • Beneficence, or working for the good of the individual and society by promoting mental health and well-being
  • Justice, or treating individuals equitably and fostering fairness and equality
  • Fidelity, or honoring commitments and keeping promises, including fulfilling one’s responsibilities of trust in professional relationships
  • Veracity, or dealing truthfully with individuals with whom counselors come into professional contact
